چکیده
Understanding the responses of seeds to detriment interaction external factors is one challenges research, especially with little explored species such as Sonchus oleraceus L. Thus, objective was investigate effect cultivation system, storage time and temperature on physiological potential Seeds were used two systems (organic conventional) in three times (0, 90 180 days) submitted at temperatures (20 30 ºC). For evaluation germination, first count, germination percentage speed index determined, while root length hypocotyl growth determined for seedling growth. The count statistically higher than days both crops temperatures. conventional obtained ºC. There a reduction days, 20 °C. environment influences seed quality during storage.

The antioxidant and cytotoxic activities of Sonchus oleraceus L. extracts
This study investigated in vitro antioxidant activity of Sonchus oleraceus L. by extraction solvent, which were examined by reducing power, hydroxyl radical-scavenging activity(HRSA) and 1, 1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging assays. 70% MeOH extract had the greatest reducing power while EtOH extract had the greatest HRSA. The antioxidant activity of S. oleraceus extracts was ...
متن کاملComparison of the Nutritive Value, Antioxidant and Antibacterial Activities of Sonchus asper and Sonchus oleraceus
Many local vegetable materials are under-exploited because of inadequate scientific knowledge of their nutritional potentials. For this reason, the nutritional, phytochemical, antioxidant and antibacterial activities of the acetone, methanol and water extracts of the leaves of Sonchus asper and Sonchus oleraceus were investigated. The proximate analysis showed that the plants contained apprecia...

Anti-ageing effects of Sonchus oleraceus L. (pūhā) leaf extracts on H₂O₂-induced cell senescence.
Antioxidants protect against damage from free radicals and are believed to slow the ageing process. Previously, we have reported the high antioxidant activity of 70% methanolic Sonchus oleraceus L. (Asteraceae) leaf extracts. We hypothesize that S. oleraceus extracts protect cells against H2O2-induced senescence by mediating oxidative stress. Premature senescence of young WI-38 cells was induce...
